UTEP features individualized advisement and small classes. Its teacher candidates learn to work with their students to create innovative learning environments consistent with state and national curriculum standards. UTEP graduates are social justice oriented teachers, who are prepared to offer culturally relevant teaching and learning strategies in their classrooms and respective communities.

It is best to consult with Dr. Bruce Bukiet, the Teacher Education Program Coordinator for advisement about any questions concerning how the program works and what courses are needed or qualify for the program. The teacher education courses offered are in a sequence that prepares pre-service middle and secondary school teachers to meet the requirements mandated by the New Jersey Department of Education for licensure in the state of New Jersey.
